Stamped Miniature Wallpaper and Other Brightly Beauties for Poet Laurie Byro

I love doing rubber stamp art. Here is a sample. I carve all my own stamps and used acrylic paints and sized it to fit the dimensions of a wall in a dollhouse.

It’s called: Walking Birds 2/2

Can make them to order in any size.

Friday’s Girl: Nancy Ann Storybook Doll
First photo is a lantern I purchased at a Michael’s craft store. I added grass on the bottom and some fairy lights up in the “attic” for sunlight or a marquee for the Letter “L” I added for Laurie.

Quite the undertaking to hold a doll but she grew out of her box once she had a gown and a cape.
Added a portrait of Athena and her owl in the corner.

Below you can see the hat and the girl with her new “Poet Hat” - just like Laurie’s hats.
She has some roses and greenery too.

Close up of the sweet blonde girl.

She has a lovely silent, sullen, look which I adore in the Nancy Ann Dolls.
The “Pudgy” doll is my favorite. This might be one.

This Nancy Ann Doll went home to Laurie Byro, poet, of New Jersey. She wrote this for her.

Our Monday’s poet is full of words.
She has poems with feathers and some with birds.
She likes blue ribbons and velvet hats,
she dresses her dollies and favorite cats.

Some Madame Alexander Dolls for sale

I’m learning how to fix them up and fix their clothes. It’s extremely relaxing.

Wendy Ann 8”

Three Madame Alexanders for sale on my Etsy store. The first photo is after I fixed her up some, the second photo was before her hair was braided but her clothes were washed and ironed. She’s got red leather shoes! RED LEATHER! Ahhh

The third photo is a more modern Alexander doll. Her vest was hand crocheted. More pictures to come!

THIS MONTH TASTE VENICE

TRY THE WORLD

We have signed up to try the many tastes of the world. Every two months you get a lovely Tiffany blue box filled with different tastes from different countries. This month it’s Italy, I see. Am looking forward to opening the box and perhaps preparing a dinner to go along with the reveal. Maybe some spinach lasagna or spaghetti, linguine, fusilli?  Perfect for all foodies out there.

We are signed up for the auto-renewal of $39 every 2 months. If we like it, we can change the price-per-box to a lower fee and a longer auto-renewal. Say, one year for $198, which is $33 per box.

Oh, I forgot. It is FREE SHIPPING!

If one doesn’t care for it, it can be cancelled at any time.

It’s a beautiful concept. From what I see, the box is divine!

Promise to follow-up as soon as we open it.

Art ideas

For me, the stark beauty of the suburbs is poetry. There's a story everywhere and a mood unseen anywhere else. Love the bushes. (Seem almost human.) Like stalking, lurkers, peeping toms?
Above, will be a very angry sky threatening to ruin perfection.
I will dive far out and deep while bring the idea to life. Watch this space.

The brothers painting is coming along

Nicely! Acrylic paint on canvas. It's almost done. Here's a bit of the process.

Want to post photos from iPad 2

Any ideas how to attach art projects from iPad images? The buttons for editing won't allow me to do this.

Very good!

the week with david

saturday night we go to parkers light house
share a fisherman's platter, dipping lobster
into warm butter; drinks (black russian)
and walk around shoreline village. later, drive
to 2nd street. a christmas parade is breaking up
so we walk over the bridge to naples and are
mesmerized by sounds of gondolas...by our selves...
we can talk and don't have to talk.

tuesday, david comes to tsog at the temple
another magical night, we sit side by side
sharing ancient text, while monks
chant for an hour and a half; incense
and light. we are so warm.
everyone loves him,
love us. are blinded by us. but that
might be imagination on my part.
afterwards we eat at
open sesame, walk to naples
roam...and kiss.

wednesday, he drives to long beach.
we go to the movies. see love
in the time of cholera. so nice
to sit close, warm and cuddle. afterward
we eat a two hour salad at mimi's and
laugh-- alot. we crack eachother up. :)

thursday, david comes to long beach
at 9 pm. drive straight to 2nd street
eat a long chicken salad at a closing
steak-o-rama--good wine--
and drive to naples. i tell him
what a dedicated lover he is. daily
dedication to nourishing our creation.
a storm is brewing

outside it is boiling too.
we stroll while the wind whips our hair.
walk the entire circumference of the island.
deep kisses and warm bodies. the mist
lashes our backs, angry at our display.

we melt into the car
time calls us ahead --
a need to race the storm.

what's real

Just want to let you know that
I'll tell you every hour on the minute
how much I love you and add something
new to the dialogue every day.

How I'll do that
given half a chance,
until one day when I'll be telling
you how much I love you, talking 24/7
until you grow tired but still, you
won't
push me away.

halo of noise

leaf blowers outside my window
dog scratches at the door
three phones ringing
footsteps pound upstairs
my bed,
an island in this sea of suffering.

moon in uranus

billie's whithering away.
the dementia's got her in its grip.
she comes up to me,
hair like a halo;
asks what day
is today, is it saturday.

are there
things i should be doing?
I say no. sit down and make a card.
she says, things are bad for dora
pray for her, will you? is today saturday?
I go out to the van, clothes stuck
to me,
thinking how relentless it all is
and how while delivering food, lobsang

wangchuk said, don't let me get old
I never want to get old and I smile
at him and say something like: way to develop
a nice aversion, dude. but i know he's right.

I get home, walk through the door,
mom says, hi babe, is today saturday?
I swear, it's fucking relentless.

Casa Children

"I remember the day the magic died.
Somehow, during the winter,
my mind had shifted into a higher gear.

I walked into the playhouse on the first day of summer.
I sat down and picked up a doll and a teacup,
and waited for the old spells to begin.

I tried again, but my doll was dead,
and I noticed that my teacup was dusty.
I sat there for a long time, thinking of nothing.

Then I left, closing the playhouse door tightly.
I remember the day the magic died.

But I'd rather remember when it was there."

Master Bedroom

Sunday Dream of Wisdom

When I reached enlightenment
I left behind all eyes...all clatter of
Human nature. Became
One with limitless beings, leaving
Behind the pinnacle of samsara.

O' charming, heroic, and fearsome,
Laughing, cunning, and fierce,
Compassionate, awesome, and peaceful,
These manners are displayed.

I prostrate to these
the fifty-eight blood-drinkers.
O' to visit with you again.
